Château de Chassagne-Montrachet, located in the very heart of famous burgundian vineyards is owned by the Picard Family.
In 1951, Louis Felix Picard acquired 2 hectares in Chagny area, few kms from Chassagne-Montrachet famous wine-growers village, and from his childhood, his son Michel Picard, was inducted into all aspects of wine.
In 1970, Michel Picard took over the reins from his father and formulated his life’s objective, the acquisition of vineyards, which would become the driving force behind his actions and later, that of the company he founded.
Château de Chassagne-Montrachet is now the headquarter of the Maison Michel Picard, famous burgundian wine house, innovative and open-minded, which produce among the best crus of Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise fine wines.
Francine Picard, the daughter,33 years old, manage tremendously this winery :efforts in the vineyards that lay the foundation for the making of great wine, choices of specific oenological pratices, and long and carefully oak barrels aging, in our 11th and 14th century vaulted cellars…
The 32 hectares of the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet include impressive growths such as Corton Grand Cru “Clos des Fiètres”(red), Chassagne-Montrachet Devant le château”(white), Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles(white) and so on….
