Vignoble Klur - Gîte - Ecological House with pond

Chez Gustave, a World Wildlife Federation (WWf) Panda gîte for your ecological holidays
Gustave lived there 50 years ago and then he left the village. He was a farmer and fought single-handedly all his life against an ungrateful piece of earth which is for us, near paradise…
In this spacious hayloft the summer harvest lay and insulated the stable below it from the fierce cold of winter. Today, this Panda gite, certified by the WWF and the Parc Natural Regional des Ballons des Vosges is a place of estonishing discovery for those who love peace and nature. Located on the magic Plateau of the 1000 ponds close to the Vosges mountains Around the house, in the microclimate at the back of the pond, on the meadow of the Frêne fountain, or in the immediate surroundings you will find plenty to observe. No television here and your mobile phone will barely work here…it’s a true vacation, time to discover another rhythm.
The house has been renovated with natural materials. You will have fresh natural spring water and solar energy for warm water and a central wood stove which is ample for heating the entire house. At 700 meters (2200 feet) of altitude, surrounded by meadows and forests, the air is of very good quality and suitable for children or adults with respiratory problems.
Designed for 2, 3, or 4 people, it is an ideal spot for a small family, a couple, or close friends. Imagine yourselves in front of the fire with a good book and a glass of wine (from Klur vineyards of course !) after a day of discovering the local hiking trails or walking along the 1200 ponds in the immediate surroundings…soon you will go to have an omelet at the Bistrot de Pays de Beulotte Saint Laurent (15 min. by foot) or even more if you have reserved tickets for the Theatre du Peuple du Bussang (20 min. by car) Your plans for the following day may include the or perhaps a day at the thermal baths in Luxueil les Bains, or who knows, maybe you won’t budge from the house. It’s your choice and we will give you all the tips for your vacation, depending on your desires

Vignoble Klur - Honeymoon House

Your honeymoon house in the heart of Riquewihr Your wedding in France ? This is the perfect address for your honeymoon…It is certainly the smallest of Alsatian houses but what a charmer!! Tucked into the original 13th century wall, which you will notice still there in the kitchen, it was originally an access to the covered walkway of the remparts (door, stairway, platform) and we have preserved the stone vestiges in spots in the plastered walls. During the 15th century, the town expanded, a second wall replaced the first and the place became a raised passageway above a hayloft. Even later, it was the stable for the oxen who helped the winemaker work his vineyards, a chicken coop, a storage place for wood, and then nothing for a longtime…We thought that this house on three levels would make a true love nest and we have welcomed honeymooners of 20, 30, and even 60 years of age !! The bedroom is way at the top of a spiral staircase,so it is prudent not to drink too much before going to sleep. The entrance and the bathroom (with an antique tub) are on the ground floor. On the first floor is a living room whose windows are even with the street (you can see everyone who passes by….), a kitchen and a charming south-facing terrace.

Vignoble Klur - Holiday house with garden

Garden Side, a vacation home on the Alsatian wine route.
It has had its turn as a winemaker’s house, an office, then a new holiday house. Decorated in pale blue and white, and connected to a a 100m2 (300 square feet) garden, that’s Garden Side: Coté Jardin.
Holidays & garden. The garden is private and enclosed. A lime tree and a catalpa offer generous shade in the summer, while the terrace allows you to sunbathe all year long. At close proximity are the grapevines and a forest of acacias and chestnuts whose perfumes come into the kitchen in June…ah! that is the time to make acacia flower fritters or beignets, delicious !! We will gladly give you the recipe. There is a garden fireplace in the stone wall made from Vosges sandstone, an eating nook and a hammock perfect for a siesta on one side, chairs for sunbathing on the other side. You can park your car and forget it for a week because walking paths begin at the house and you also have bicycles at your disposal. If it rains, you can enjoy the sauna and books and games. The light-filled interior is organized around a large woodstove with banquettes for cold winter nights. The south-facing family room opens onto the eating nook, the library, and the well-equipped kitchen with bar. We’ll give the latest on the suspension easy chair and the readings we have chosen…The bath has a tub/shower, separate toilet, and there are two bedrooms for 2 and 3 people plus a dressing area. You’ll also find cable TV and a DVD player

Vignoble Klur - Apartment at the winery

Stay at the winery at Katzenthal close to Colmar:Chez Juliette
Juliette was the name of one of the grand mothers of the Klur family. She lived here in this room close to the Stub (the main room in the house). The is still a fireplace here and a very nice living room. You will enjoy the quietness of this 1 floor apartment, the morning sun in the kitchen, the evenings siting in front of the fire with a glass of Klur wine.
The vineyard house was built at the end of the 19th century on an ancient foundation. It's a typical winemaker's house with basement cellars, living area on the first floor and a huge attic. Renovated 1992 and 2007, all organic you will enjoy this place and living very close to a traditional family.
Katzenthal is one of the very rare villages in Alsace to be located at the end of the road. At the foot of the Trois Epis spa, a well-known pilgramage site, in the heart of Alsace and just outside of Colmar, this village preserves its rural character. Lovers of peace and quiet come here, attracted by this unique valley, by the superb south-west facing hillsides, and by the fortified chateau ruins surrounded by vines. Your day begins with the boulangerie where you'll get all the latest village news and Patricia's laugh will wake you up. After, opt for a day in the outdoors and take the marked footpath beside the house and wander through part of the vineyards: towards Neiedermorschwihr and its twisted steeple and on towards the walls of Turkheim or in the other direction towards Ammerschwihr and Kaysersberg, where Albert Schweitzer lived. You'd like to go higher in the mountains? Then take the other path towards le Galtz (at 700 meters of 2200 ft) and Labaroche for a taste of the Welche region. After this warm-up you are at a maximum 30 minutes from 50 discovery excursions in Alsace. Tired in the evening? Try a tarte flambee in one of the village restaurants. You don't want to budge? Then enjoy a relaxing day in Katzenthal: Madame can pamper herself at the beauty salon, monsieur can go to the tennis court with the children who will also love the playground…and there's no need to insist that you will learn everything about Alsatian wines if you would like to. We're just close to your holiday home.
