Château Mangot & Château La Brande
These exceptional estates in two different Bordeaux wine areas have been in the family for several generations. Since 1989, Anne Marie & Jean Guy Todeschini have been carrying on the family tradition at Vignobles Jean Petit, devoting all their efforts to bringing out the very best in their renowned wines. Major investments have been made to enhance the land and the buildings. A place to visit…
CHATEAU MANGOT , ST EMILION GRAND CRU APPELATION
An estate covering some 37 hectares (90 acres) in a single stretch in Saint Etienne De Lisse. Hillside terraces and plateau facing due south.
CHATEAU LA BRANDE, COTES DE CASTILLON APPELATION
Vineyards of 25 hectares (60 acres) in Belves De Castillon on south facing slopes.
Château Tournefeuille
Château Tournefeuille, located in the village of Néac a few footsteps from the church, extends over 18 hectares of vines, forming a unified whole around the château, the vat-room, and the chai. But its distinctiveness lies in the fabulous slope on which it is perched, which offers a splendid panorama.
Planted on gravel and clay soil typical of Pomerol, and facing the Southwest, the merlot and cabernet franc grapes draw their complexity from this terroir, making for a beautiful wine at maturity.
The connoisseur will also note that it is not a function of a single slope but of a topography alternating between clay basins and hill-tops gravelly like a pebble beach.
LALANDE DE POMEROL ... SAINT EMILION ... POMEROL
In 2003, the Petit family complemented the vineyard of Tournefeuille with 3 hectares in the appellation of Saint-Emilion:
Jean Voisin and Château La Révérence are located behind the village on the clay plateau of Saint-Emilion, near the crus classes. The vineyard consists of 60% merlot and 40% cabernet franc, with vines averaging 28 years of age.
A small modern chai was built in 1998, allowing vinification parcel by parcel in small stainless steel vats and barrels.
Everything comes together to create a beautiful Saint-Emilion and a grand vin in the spirit of the Grand Cru.
In 2004, a new step was taken, this time in the direction of the prestigious appellation of Pomerol, with the launch of Château L'Ecuyer.
Located in part on the plateau of Pomerol, the vines of L'Ecuyer are planted in clay-gravel soil with a clay subsoil, offering great depth and elegance. The 2004 vintage of Château L'Ecuyer was crafted in new 4-hectoliter barrels in a recently renovated chai.
