Domaine Agapé
1. The Agapé Domaine
The Agapé Domaine is located in Riquewihr in the heart of the Alsatian wine growing region. Our vines grow on the best slopes of the
Hunawihr, Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr communes, well known for their clay and limestone soils producing well structured, good ageing wines.
Riquewihr wines have always been sought after by noblemen and have always been present on the best tables. Even the great Voltaire owned
vineyards here!
Domaine Agapé brings together 8.5 Ha. of vineyard, one third of which are on the Grand Cru Appellation of Schoenenbourg, Rosacker and Osterberg. These wines of great expression and character are charming even the most demanding connoisseurs.
2. Production Methods
Great care is taken in the vineyards using ‘soft’ methods close to natural cycles. We use homemade compost as fertiliser. The ground is ploughed in springtime to simulate life in soil and avoid winter erosion. The aim is to achieve clean, concentrated grapes usingnatural products ( natural defence stimulators and biological insecticides). Harvested by hand, the grapes are selected and quickly transported to our cellars. They are carefully handled and pressed whole to guarantee their fruit and finesse. The juices ferment slowly for a month or so and profit from the contact with their fine sediments. In spring the wines are filtered
very carefully to preserve their character.
3. The Wines
We have three wine ranges;
The ‘Expressions’ are those which present each grape variety and impress with their fruit and ‘terroir’.
The ‘Grand Crus’ are the essence of the ‘terroir’. These great wines with subtle flavours and compelling bouquets have no equal.
The ‘Hélios’ are soft, sensual wines filled with sunshine. They are only available in exceptional years.
We also produce Crémant and a blend we call ‘Mosaïque’.
Domaine Stoeffler
Our family vineyard extends over 15 ha distributed between 10 villages of 2 famous areas of the Wine Road: Barr, Mittelbergheim, Heiligenstein,
Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr et Zellenberg.
Thanks to the great diversity of soils, we offer you a very broad range of wines. We produce 35 different wines with the 8 traditional grape varieties of Alsace, the wines with stony characteristics, the Grands Crus, the Late Harvest and "Sélection de grains nobles" wines.
All the vines are cultivated according to the biological agricultural rules (organic), which means without synthetic products or fertilizers.
All our production comes from our own vineyard and is sold in bottles in our cellar located at the property in Barr. You can also taste our wines all around France in restaurants and wine cellars, and abroad as we export towards ten countries of which Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Japan, United States…
Notre vignoble familial s’étend sur 15 ha réparti entre 10 communes viticoles très réputés.
2 secteurs principaux: Barr, Mittelbergheim, Heiligenstein,Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr et Zellenberg.
Cette grande diversité de terroirs nous permet de vous proposer une très large gamme de vin.
Nous produisons 35 vins différents chaque année, les 8 cépages classiques d’Alsace, les vins de terroirs, les Grands Crus, les Vendanges Tardives et Sélection de Grains Nobles. Toutes les vignes sont cultivées selon les règles de l’agriculture biologique, c'est-à-dire sans engrais ni produits de synthèse.
